Your essay is a masterclass in ideological projection—where long-debunked myths are rebranded as bold truths, and systemic harm is waved away as feminist overreach. You speak with conviction, but you consistently distort data, flatten nuance, and cherry-pick anecdotes to suit a preordained narrative: that women have hijacked institutions, fabricated epidemics, and weaponized victimhood.
Let’s be clear: false allegations of domestic violence are rare. Multiple peer-reviewed studies (e.g., Trocmé & Bala, 2005; Henning et al., 2005) place the rate around 4–7%, and even then, many are the result of misunderstanding or misclassification, not malicious intent. Meanwhile, the vast majority of survivors—women—underreport, often due to shame, fear, or exactly this kind of public shaming narrative. I would know— I called 911 after my ex strangled me in front of our toddler (this was the first time I called the cops because I was so hesitant to make things worse), I got handcuffed and put in jail for a night because he had scratches on his arms (me clawing my way out of his choke hold) and he came off cool calm and collected while I was practically hyperventilating (hard not to do when youve lost oxygen and are scared). With strangulation, even in fatal cases there aren’t always visible marks (although I did have them the next day, just not immediately- which is normal for bruising). While obviously there is a very small subset of women who do the whole DV false report thing, this is a much less significant than the reports that aren’t made - out of fear of retaliation, fear of being retraumatized by the police (who aren’t well trained in DV and don’t know how to handle the situation), etc.
Your invocation of the “Nordic paradox” conveniently omits the most cited explanation: in more gender-equal societies, reporting increases. The data doesn’t suggest more violence—it suggests less tolerance for it. Equality doesn’t erase patriarchy; it brings it into the light.
Jess Hill’s work is rigorous and complex, not confused. She isn’t “straying from the feminist line”—she’s expanding the conversation. Acknowledging alcohol or intergenerational trauma doesn’t negate gender-based violence—it contextualizes it. That’s what serious thinkers do. You, meanwhile, dismiss her evolution as betrayal, as though critical thought is dangerous when it doesn’t reaffirm your biases.
And finally, your mockery of enthusiastic consent reveals far more than you realize. Consent isn’t about tone policing—it’s about power. Teaching young people to recognize coercion and to respect boundaries is not indoctrination. It’s harm reduction. If that feels threatening to you, I suggest the problem isn’t the curriculum.
So no—feminism hasn’t “pulled the wool over our eyes.” It’s simply refused to look away. I won’t debate you further, because you’re not interested in dialogue—you’re interested in undermining survivors, delegitimizing decades of research, and romanticizing a version of power where only one kind of harm is ever allowed to count.
I'm a girl but get nude. If the police come to my door, I always get in the shower and suds up. Not only does it put significant detours in their way, I can brush my teeth and make it difficult for them to arrest me if it comes to that.
I want to tear my hair out. Firstly. It's not that simple. Police always charge someone. It may be 80% male in Qld which I find very hard to believe but in NSW it's closer to 50/50. Why charge someone? Conflict is not always abuse - can this be a thing we campaign about? Get the police out of our personal relationships? The teenage girl next door heard us arguing and called the police, I was arrested and served an ADVO. Not joking. I was not allowed to drink in my own home, and the general terms which can be interpreted as widely as the police choose. I was then arrested again for breaking my AVO - they broke the door down - for singing loudly, by my partner when we were having an argument because he knew he could use it against me. I was arrested again - you have no idea how terrifying and brutal it is to be arrested until it happens. I spent the night in the lockup, was restricted from seeing my son for 3 weeks, just for asking for the internet to be put back on. Yes, I screamed and called him an arsehole for turning it off, because he was baiting me. He called the police on me and I couldn't be arrested without backup because I was catatonic and pissed myself - was taken straight to the hospital. The police put me in a white suit which the hospital argued I could not be admitted in, so they were about to take me back down to the lockup and asked me to put my urine soaked clothing back on.
A male nurse with an english accent and common sense intervened. He gave me his wife's gym bag and said "put this on". She was obviously a bit fitter than me! But he saved me sanity and a bit of self respect. Thank you whoever you are - awesome dude at Gosford hospital.
Secondly, we are not all feminists. Almost none of us are. It is the system, you idiot! The system that demands a police officer come to every call out of any argument and arrest someone in a relationship, in front of their children, and then make one of them the abuser, one the victim, and one have to move out. The children suffer.
By advocating for men over women, you simply perpetuate the adversarial system.
Here's a thing: Have you heard about Prairie madness/fever? Well, I went down a rabbit hole. Pioneer American women in Kansas/Nebraska, for 50 years had massive rates of being killed, killing their husbands, killing themselves, and killing their children. Why? They were the most literate, religious, and, sure they were isolated, but they either had slaves or were from that class; they had a midwife or woman to call upon within 50 miles. Some say it was the wind. We know how they felt because of their daily diaries and the records of local religious women's groups that they were a part of. Studies have been done between Australian, Canadian, Norwegian, Swedish and can't remember the other .... but there was only one other province in Canada that had anywhere near the rates of murder/homicide/suicide/infanticide that was equal to that on the prairie at the same time.
One could argue that the women who ended up on stations in Australia had far more cause to go insane and kill their children in 1830 but almost none of them did. I have searched Trove. Can only find a single case of a mother killing her extended family with a shotgun in NSW in the 18th century. Did we have fewer guns? Maybe. Less reporting? Maybe. But still. American folk songs. There's a sub-genre of wailing songs about the babies they used to throw from the trains when the rails went down. Who did? "mama went crazy". They had a civil war. That would make mama go crazy. I get it. But throw your children from the train? Spidey senses. I have examined the source documents and they seem legit but the pictures. They women are very - how can I say, puritan, german, or morman - I cannot relate to them at all.
We all grew up with little house on the Prairie. But it was a lie - in 1860, in Australia, the infant mortality rate was 390 deaths per thousand, and in USA it was 463. They had the best technology in the world, we had the worst. Women on the prairie still had slaves or a town was a few hours ride away, we were truly isolated.
So men helped women in labour, because nobody else was coming, and vice versa - there were no real sex roles, both partners were more equal. In America, they never did. They waited for a midwife from the town because they were more puritan and religious so that's were the sex role anglo-saxon thing came from. That's one argument I've heard.
Australians are more genetically - well, the white people anyway - anglo-celtic. I had to read Winston Churchill's History of the English Speaking People at school and I still have it on my shelf. The Scots, the Celts, the English, all had women who they deferred to as pagan goddesses and had that in common with the romans. That's why they took on the cult of Mary as part of Catholicism.
Anyway, just as white men made the world, you couldn't have done it without crazy white women.
BPD is a white girl trait. Brown girls and asians are bred to conform. It's dark but probably true.
They are way more Germanic than we are. We are more Celtic. So it's easy to apply a fake universal. Even look at pics. The way men stand in the Gold fields Ballarat is different to the way they stand in Goldfields California, the dress is different. Men kill women far less per capita in Australia than America in the 19th century, while we were a colony! Women who came out as criminals almost never committed a further offence. They were almost overwhelmingly prostitutes and petty criminals, when women were often forced to resort to those things to support their families, then had to leave them behind. Heartbreaking. Still, if we are taking trauma, my ancestors had more trauma than most Americans. Yet perpetuated far less harm. So I don't know. Read about Alfred the Great. He defeated the Vikings by being a great dad. If you want to know anything about women it's that we are closer to the men in our tribe than any idea of a universal women, except when the men create it. It comes from you.
So what do you want? Do you want the sexual revolution where you can have free love with no ties? Because men overwhelmingly wanted that. It was not feminism. The sexual revolution pre-dated women's liberation. Or do you want marriage? Men don't know what they want. Come up with a coherent think that you want. You've completely dropped the ball. My husband watches power lifting videos, spends 2 hours at the gym and $100 on tuna and creatine and does nothing around the house. The grass is knee high. I'm going to have to sell my car. My eldest son is non-binary and my youngest has a brainrot youtube channel.
I was forced to move out of my home, I am the primary carer and the main income earner. The police do not care if you are a man or woman. They made me leave, then he had no home because he couldn't pay the rent. I got a rental easily because I have more money. Did I let him move back in with me? Yes because he acts out, then regrets it. Once upon a time, he'd have punched me in the face and it would be done with. I wish he did. It would've caused less damage than this bullshit. So he calls the police instead. And it goes on for months, a year. We have to keep remembering it, it eats us from the inside. It's not feminism- because if you call it feminism most men (and women) think you mean women, and it's adversarial. But most men are so ego driven they cannot let it go. It is difficult. But you have to let it go.
Get the police out of our personal lives.
But also, there was never a time when you got to do whatever you wanted. Feminism, or whatever you call it, gave you liberty you can barely comprehend. If your wife leaves you for someone else and you complain that you have to pay child support, that is nothing to do with feminism. If that happened 100 years ago, you could be put in jail or an insane asylum for life for not paying child support.
And before that, in any time or place you would likely just be killed by the woman's relatives.
Sorry not attacking police here, but arent we all kinda missing the point, if they don’t stand up to this gross injustice as trained officers sworn to uphold the law, then how can the government or anyone be expected to care about them. I mean really they should know better, does it matter how much your boss at any job pressures you to do something you know is not just completely unethical, not written in legislation anyway & goes against the ethical guidelines clearly layed out & designed to be used with the legislation to stop anyone be it your boss your bosses boss or a colleague or junior it’s to combat obvious corruption issues bc it’s clearly set out for them & us.
Not many people would choose to listen to a boss who’s directive goes against the actual written law thats there to stand against this type of behaviour, shame on anyone who directly stands by or worse does it, you accept what your willing to walk past, in these cases it’s not a road gutter concrete layed wrong or a few zeros on a spread sheet, no this almost instantly ruins families, many take their own lives, you are literally treated guilty, the presumption of innocence apparently no longer applies to men.
It is my understanding that if advo’s are made into a crime then it would be better as it would be in the criminal court, that means they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that this apparent dv occurred. Currently it sits in the civil courts & then hits the family courts, both of which are based on the balance of probabilities with the federal family circuit court also apparently taking into account what the best thing for the child is, but with the balance of probabilities that just means in the current sea of false statistics used for funding rounds & political agendas the judiciary are too scared to make any real decisions so they just say breadcrumb the dads, courts & DCJ still use an outdated DSM, there is so much data around now about fathers roles in family’s & the lack of, the judges & cops have seem to have no understanding of the nature of coercive control & the real statistics set out by credible agencies with trackable peer reviewed papers as unbiased as you’ll find bc they are using a cross section of bias’ analysts doing real analysis together, then it gets peer reviewed too. It’s not hard to find.
The mainstream news outlets tv stations depending on the show channel produce bullshit bias’ fake crap for various agendas, this prime time fake news crap being served is silly & base & easy to identify.
The stats clearly show an exponential reduction in dv since the 1980’s.
it also shows the most recent highest rates in domestic violence being female to female domestic violence.
M/F & F/M violence is roughly the same.
Just woman are more likely to use a knife or poison you.
Woman get handed a stick to beat men with publicly by police who put orders through without evidence & or investigation by speaking with both parties first & there is zero reason why a video dvec should not be taken for both. All cops have body cams, no more excuses.
And there needs to be some real evidence, funny even though I have evidence bc they never spoke to me as outlined in their mandate or took a statement nor accept my evidence my daughter has suffered abuse beyond measure.
If you take a good mother or father away like that & the children suffer, it’s disgraceful behaviour & any cop or DCJ employee or magistrate or judge that can’t figure that out needs to resign. Because that’s the job, discernment based of evidence. If your experiencing dv it’s pretty easy to gather evidence. I did & it wasn’t hard bc that are crazy ppl who do that. Seriously wake up, allowing this behaviour from anyone of the above mention positions in our system amounts to child abuse.
I don’t really want to respond to you bc of your style of comms
I can’t be bothered responding, but bc it’s a deep issue that’s affects us all & kids are the losers I’ll take a moment.
The fact is that once ya press the go button on a dv order or worse they rarely truly understand the seriousness of its affects on the family unit, and then often double down, they feel the need to keep up the bullshit bc it completely ruins lives & look what they done.
That’s a choice mate, I’m not blaming anyone.
It’s not about blame, it’s called responsibility.
Ppl who make false allegations male or female & then dont have the sense to correct issues created by it need to learn the meaning of the word up & be held accountable when found out. Enough is enough.
How is it the same? Are you trans? Men always say this: women start it, most violence is perpetuated by women but define violence? Is yelling violence - apparently yes. So, tick. Text messages are now violence. They make you feel unsafe. And singing also is violence too. Contact your sister is violence. Not letting you use my car is violence, according to the police. Pretty much anything the guy on the ADVO describes as making him feel ''unsafe'' - even if I''m the one paying all the bills, the rent, bringing up the kids, paying for him to be an artist - is 'violence'' if he feels unsafe. Regardless of gender. We all need to stop this!
Women get handed a stick to beat men publicly with. This is absolute bullshit. Women get arrested almost as often as men. Go to the Downing Centre or your Local Court on any day of the week and you will see many very well dressed women. Police do not understand that conflict is not abuse and now almost always arrest the woman. The stats are there.
You will see that it's nothing like the same. Men kill women overwhelmingly more frequently than women kill men. And women kill men by poison so infrequently that it's a national story right now - in case you hadn't noticed.
Look at the real peer reviewed cross referenced stats I can provide them if you wish. I find the way you choose to communicate is like an attack, I’m not sure if you’ve misunderstood what I’ve said or what but I’d rather not respond bar this. You exhibit a pattern of misguided Anger mate.
I’m not blaming woman, did you not read what I’ve said?
Blaming in not in my ethos of worthwhile time spent, if you can’t grasp what I’m saying, read it again do some proper research correct your stats then come back.
Women were burned at the stake for centuries because they encourage social contagion and disruption, not because they murder directly. You are a fool if you don't understand that.
Great that the first of the three scoundrels (in the picture) is a man!
These disgusting creatures are a huge part of the problem (in politics, MSM, churches, etc.) but have earned the contempt of men, and never had the respect of women. Albo!!!! Although I've seen them on social media get plenty of 'likes' from women when they "challenge other men", as per the dv dogma (and from other simps too), I suspect these women despise their lack of wits and cowardice and wouldn't want their daughters to go near one.
Once again, Bettina's illustrator has captured the article in one picture!
Restores my faith in police, to read your reports of Qlders leaving the force, on principle. Ironically, likely exactly the type of person, who we need, as continuing police officers.
I've often ruminated, in dismay at my own (various) experience, that this or that officer, has no choice, in actions they take (ie ADVO processes). Then find myself wondering how he/she lies straight in bed at night, rather than resigning. Glad to hear some do.
I have just submitted a comment to an article in The Age/SMH about the trend for young men (Gen Z) to be less "progessive" than older males.
So I submitted the following comment. I have submiited such comments before and they are routinely blackballed. We shall see if by some miracle this one gets through:
Young men are reacting to misandrism which saw boys at a Victorian High school being told to stand and apologise to girls for who they were. That sort of thing occurred in Germany in the 1930s and 1940s, although it was not about gender.
They are constantly being told about the 'gender pay gap' which is actually the choices made about jobs. Men are more likely to sign up for the dirty, dangerous and physically demanding jobs, which is why 93% of workplace deaths are men. We never hear about the workplace death gap.
Family violence is portrayed as being all about women and children being victims of male violence in spite of what the statistics say, and mothers are more often the perpetrators in child homicide.
Andrew Tate is a poor role model, but he attracts a following because he tells young men that there is nothing inherently wrong with them.
My experience with submitting comments to The Australian is that I have to avoid mentioning "feminism" or accusing women of anything. I can sometimes point out that a particular issue adversely affects men and boys.
And another comment of mine to a story blaming the "patriarchy" for negative comments by women on social media about seven women celebrity 'astronauts' was also blackballed.
No surprise that your comment was rejected , the media are pro feminist mostly , even the Murdoch media , there are no brave independent journalists in the MSM now , who might be willing to provoke the feminists with a different point of view .
Stop (news, courts, police, make it illegal to be..) referring to those making allegations or those police make orders for as "victims"; they are applicants or those being made protective orders for on an interim basis; stop calling the alleged offenders "perpetrators" when no evidence has been presented in court except for "victim" or "police" hearsay. Change the way DV and FV charges and court are listed - NO listing of any charges no matter whether there's evidence or not because by the time the innocence of the accused is found - and sometimes never presented in court - the defendant's reputation is in question or ruined publicly; also they could not get gainful work if needing a WWCC or NPC whilst years of court action is going on.
Then why are police (sometimes) themselves handing interim orders out and supporting orders they know - or should have properly investigated - to be false and or actually supporting these and contributing to them (whether accused is male or f) and then continuing, in case(s...possibly more than one, in Vic.) to attack the falsely accused simply for defending their own human rights and rights under the law? Including adding to the false allegations (regardless of whether it is a male or female accused (or perhaps it's easier to make false allegations if it's a female being accused? especially if they are poor and unable to get proper legal representation as legal aid/CLC etc. are known to sometimes not care, like police, if the person is innocent, with in one case it took the legal representation nearly 3 years to view the evidence showing the person was innocent by which time there had been multiple extensions of the order and the gross loss of property including living property and the accusations came from government authorities for, presumably, some very basic agenda of furthering their own wants))? Is it to assist other agencies misusing the system, even if that is in very few cases? Or is it because they are seen to be supporting the RCD&FV? Whether or not it is males or females being falsely accused the police are there sometimes also adding to these false accusations or supporting them: all allegations should be investigated by an independent body; if someone is deemed at the time to be actually at risk (by way of real evidence, not hearsay which is used as evidence) then they ought to be moved somewhere - or the accused moved - and government pays for the stay elsewhere until investigation is done with it coming out of police funds if there's a deliberate or negligent mistake with those officers disciplined. There'd probably be more police who are not wanting to make or go along with false allegations. Or, the person making the allegations, except if there is verifiable evidence (such as injuries or theft) has to move, by law, and has to pay their own stay. There'd be a steep decline, probably, in allegations.
Remember that Peter Dutton was once a Queensland cop , in view of the outrageous injustices to men being perpetrated in his home state , it would be interesting to hear what he has to say .
If he wants to be the next Prime Minister he could drum up more votes by standing up for the ordinary working men. Scott Morrison saw this potential and won on the mens vote.
One things for sure ,if Labor wins the federal election the feminists will be emboldened and things will get worse , if thats possible considering how bad they already are .
Yes it would be interesting He is so fixed to be elected I don’t trust anyone. My fear is that he’ll follow Labor & do exactly what the feminists want. In the case I know the police told the man he could not bring his own ADVO case as “he could not do tit for tat” He’d already reported it to a psychologist and police! Reported the wife’s violence to the child! Photos of evidence. 4 years later nothing! Politicians are only interested in their life not the lives of us.
my ex charged me with dv. I picked my kids up on my weekend as I always did and she decided to organise other activities for the children. it was something she regularly did. this day I wasn't happy and said this can't keep happening and after we argued for a while I left then a couple of days later I was contacted by the police telling me to present to the local police station as I'm under arrest. I basically thought nothing of it and all of a sudden I was thrown in a cell and hours later I was told to present at court which was about 10 months later due to the wait in the court system. I was charged with stalking and intimidation and assault for an apparent dv incident 5 years prior. in my trial while the arresting officer was on the stand my lawyer asked did you get evidence she said no did you get witness statements-no no did you get phone records-no. in the meantime they placed a ADVO on myself so I couldn't see my kids for that time. these allegations were proven to be false in court and nothing was done except for the fact that she was put on a pedestal and I was straight away the criminal. these laws need to be changed
So true. When the woman happens to be a high income earner the man has no chance. The man was carer of the child while the woman worked her way into a huge salary. Walked out at 7.30am home at 6.00 to 9.00pm Child bathed and fed in bed. I heard her ranting at child and husband. I flew down (Brisbane -Sydney) to baby sit monthly. His work was not as profitable as hers, but 4 yrs later he has nothing she has both units, bank accounts due to fraud & bank doing what the “woman” wanted He was not allowed any communication with the child. He had supervised visits for 2 hrs with the child he’d cared for. It is just evil what the feminists do to the father, my son a decent human being.
That’s terrible , why was he banned from communicating with his own child ? That’s a fault with DV orders ,if a woman gets one against her husband the children are automatically included on the orders as “protected “ persons, it’s things like this which are causing men to do drastic things such as suicide .
Sure :through divorces ans abortions feminissm is slowly dissolving our civilisation.
Feminists used to say::
"Feminism never killed anybody"
It's an absolute falsewood; It's killing every day children in abortions, fathers and mothers in suicides.
Feminists believe sex is love. But love is respect for someone who is different of you.
Debeauvoir wrote:
"At birth, a girl is not a women" She was partly right.. She 'll become a women, a wife an a mother if she is educated in the right society, in a loving family.
In a loving family, you get respect and diversity: a father: a mother, sisters and brothers. Every one is different and equal.
But feminism destroies efficient famiies and creates unequalities in each one, promoting "victims" opposed to "predators".
It is the most dangerous social crime !
And This crime is commited by clever politicians to get power and riches since 1971 !
I feel i need to send this to my fiancés lawyer, they could do with reading this.

Blocked. But do take care.
There is a nice detail in your personal story that proves it is fake.

That is your opinion only
I am a victim of false DV charges and have been charged and treated like a criminal right from the beginning
If you are male NO one listens to you
If you are female you can make up whatever you want and the police will lap it all up
I am facing serious charges because of one woman’s lies.
It has affected me mentally and financially and I have done jail time, WHY?
Because of a woman’s lies and a broken system
Is this a reply to the comment from April 17? Don't understand what you are saying, sorry.

The men need to step up. Stop blaming us.
It absolutely does! I agree with you, but stop blaming women. It's the 'justice' system, you idiot.
I wasn’t, I love woman.
Bless you
How is it the same?
Yes, exactly. You prove your own point. Look at the stats. Knife and poison crimes for women against men.
https://www.aihw.gov.au/family-domestic-and-sexual-violence/responses-and-outcomes/domestic-homicide
Bettina
Restores my faith in police, to read your reports of Qlders leaving the force, on principle. Ironically, likely exactly the type of person, who we need, as continuing police officers.
I've often ruminated, in dismay at my own (various) experience, that this or that officer, has no choice, in actions they take (ie ADVO processes). Then find myself wondering how he/she lies straight in bed at night, rather than resigning. Glad to hear some do.
Cheers
Bettina for PM, the voice of common sense
I'm saving up to move to either S E Asia or Latin America. I detest Australia now and am not interested in hanging around to see if it turns around.
Shocked to have to report that the above comment was rejected.
Feminists used to say::
