My father was murdered in slow motion by my mother. Authorities refused to believe it.

My father, a talented musician, was of an era that imposed the cast-iron edict that a man should never strike a woman. So he never did, regardless of the provocation. Nevertheless, it was not unusual for his face to wear bruises. Our mother had no compunction about throwing a large plate in his face, or slamming him with a hairbrush.

We kids left home early and, later, told him to slap her back so she knew how it felt. He refused.

He was a war vet from the Guatamala region (Ispiritu Santo) and wanted nothing more to do with violence. Over the years, we suspected she was bashing him, especially while he was asleep. One day, he phoned me saying he could not take it anymore and to please rescue him. One of my brothers, a lawyer, was fool enough to intervene and, our mother caught on and forced Dad to phone me to say he had made it all up. Do not visit.

I requested police intervention, was put onto a woman, and the case went nowhere. He got a melanoma on the head and she would not let him get treatment then, as he was dying, she threw him out on the street in the rain and the cold.

I was then tracked down by a hospital social worker and was reconnected to Dad. He said he was heppy to die now that I had found him. The social worker said she was aware of around 40 similar cases, inexplicably, almost all war veterans.

I came back at the police with a vast international report covering many countries, in which it was found that 80% of domestic violence was initiated by women. I read it fully and it was an impressive document. They stressed that by "initiated" they meant "struck the first blow, as in with a knife, blunt instrument, or gun".

I sent the report to several formal inquiries but this was never acknowledged. I have since attempted to draw attention to women routinely slapping men's faces, mostly for petty insults, real or imagined. In movies and on TV, it is now becoming increasingly accepted for women to kick men in the nuts, as punishment for being what once was regarded as "caddish".

And women wonder why young men are angry, resentful, and ultimately violent. I can see this going very wrong.

Hi Bettina, Thanks for all your great work. I was watching a clip from the Sunrise show with Natalie Barr and David Koch as the trial was reaching its conclusion. Whilst interviewing an expert in the USA they asked the expert what they thought the outcome would be. The expert replied that they thought Johnny would win but would only be awarded $1. Natalie Barr then said something like "then it will have been a big waste of time". This insignificant comment to me reveals the total lack of comprehension of some women/people as to the damage false claims of D/V, sexual assault etc. can cause, how it can ruin someones life, how they will be looked upon as evil by almost everyone they encounter. In fact the ramifications can be worse in some cases(I imagine) than a physical assault. I feel pretty sure clearing his name was Mr Depp's main goal.

best wishes Rod
