Gofundme bans my fundraiser

Urgent post-script to my blog from yesterday. I was delighted to receive a stream of notices from gofundme last night showing that many of you were sending in generous donations to support Chris, to help fight his wrongful dismissal case.

This morning I discovered all the donors had been sent an email saying that their money was to be refunded. Here is the gofundme email explaining the reason:

Dear Bettina,

We’re reaching out to you to inform you that your GoFundMe account has been removed because it violates our Terms of Service, which you can view here. Specifically, the content of your fundraiser falls under our “Prohibited conduct” section.

Our Terms of Service, along with strictly enforced policies from the payments industry, prohibit GoFundMe from allowing you to continue raising money on our platform.

Any donations made to your fundraiser that have not already been transferred to the bank account on file have been refunded. Those funds will arrive back in your donors' bank accounts within 3-7 business days.

We ask that you please do not respond to this email, as we cannot reinstate your GoFundMe account.

As far as we can see, the prohibited conduct I have breached presumably falls under one of these ominous categories:

8. User Content that reflects or promotes behaviour that we deem, in our sole discretion, to be an abuse of power or in support of hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, serious disabilities or diseases.

9. The legal defence of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, serious disabilities or diseases, financial crimes or crimes of deception;

How about that? Another woke organisation taking it upon themselves to act as our moral guardians, even determining which victims we are permitted to support. This fundraising platform is full of campaigns to raise money to stop sexual assault and harassment, or funds for sexual abuse ‘survivors.’ Here’s Nina Funnell raising nearly $250,000 defending a survivor who defamed Christian Porter and other politicians during the furore over sexual assault/harassment allegations.

I hope you will agree this is an outrage and will help me alert people to this latest intrusion into our basic rights and liberties.

I urge all of you who have had your donations returned to please send them through to me again. I am now steering clear of these dictatorial fundraising platforms and ask you to please donate to Chris via my Paypal or direct deposit using details given here. Please mark your donation “Chris Fund”.

What a start to the New Year - a telling reminder of the dangerous world we are facing and the need for us all to step up, speak out and take on this mob controlling our lives.
