This essay made my blood run cold. I knew this sort of thing happens but had no idea how widespread it appears to be. I noticed the ‘believe all women’ script being used at least 10 years ago, but didn’t realise that the police and courts were so heavily into convicting or at least, putting men, boys and families through hell due to a vindictive female.
I’m a 78 year old grandmother of five dearly loved grandsons and I really fear for them in the world we live in. I agree that that no one should serve on juries unless very carefully vetted. In a perfect world everyone would be completely objective and not given to heightened emotions. I guess that won’t ever happen.
It's the same story all around the Western society. Here in Slovakia too. It's the feminist inquisition. Men are inherently guilty. The feminist death cult openly wages war against men.
In 2022 I had personal involvement in one such case, of a blatantly false allegation. My involvement was via friends at the man's church, who asked me to help (as I'll explain).
The police acted ruthlessly and quickly, as required by law. The man was summarily detained, and thus unable to work.
Within days it was proven that he was somewhere else at the time of the alleged offence yet the "process" had to work through all the restrictions until a judge cleared him.
At the time of the arrest he was just a recent immigrant with a job, and living quietly with his family. Everyone who knew him thought the accusation was not credible.
He was detained on remand. He was removed from his family. He was forced to wear a tracking device, 24/7. After release from detention he had to live in a place away from children and his movements were restricted (including, away from his place of work).
My own involvement was that I was asked to provide home detention for him, so I had a visit from the home detention officials to check out my place and the internet connectivity for the tracking device. In the end, another place was used.
Needless to say, his two young children were deeply distressed by all this.
It was about six months between the arrest and his being returned to his family, completely cleared of the accusation. It cost his family $1000s, in legal fees and loss of income.
Thanks for this Bettina. I wish the US had Costs Certs. That would sure make it easy to see if something similar is happening here. We know it is, but proof is hard to find.

How on earth do we change public perceptions and sentiment? It's ... "you're male ...GUILTY!!!" Of course, there are horrific male-female rape cases, but these stories make me shudder. Another shocking account of systematic injustice even to the point where, as I understand it, our police seem to be actively concealing or destroying evidence that would exonerate men who are falsely accused. Your article is a good counter argument to a recent article I read from Oz legal counsel Justin Quill complaining about the "legal loophole” of the Open Courts Act allowing judges to suppress the identity of defendants on the basis of mental health, which he apparently drafted himself. Quill claims this is a "house of cards built on untested assertions" and he hopes that judges will give little weight on the opinions of psychiatrist reports in support of suppressing the identity of the defendant prior to conviction. Your account of Aaron Peapell and others is an antidote to such views. Quill is expressing the views of a large media organisation, so it’s hardly surprising that he should be pro-publicity. Nevertheless, as these tragic cases make plain, if the identity of false accusers which have resulted in cost orders are suppressed from the public, I see no reason why the identity of defendants who supposedly have the presumption of innocence are also suppressed until such time as they have been convicted of the offence.
The first paragraph of this article is interesting , police refused to consider evidence which would have proved the accused man could not have done it . This is happening more and more , if a woman says she was raped , then that’s all the prosecution needs to charge and they will deliberately ignore evidence to the contrary .

We were advised legally against it. We live in QLD. My son was clearly falsely accused as she was caught several times lying in court. But after we spent nearly $100,000 and 2yrs between being charged and going to court we don’t have the time, money or energy to take her to court. And we were told we would have to be able to prove beyond a doubt that she made the claims with malicious intent - which we honestly don’t think she did. She was a 17yr old girl (my son had JUST turned 18) who got swept in a lie to cover up being hung over at work and her boss reported the assault. If I blame anyone it’s the police who didn’t do their job and the prosecutors who pushed the case!
No! Never! False DV! In our son’s case the woman mortgaged the unit (original deposit from us) & had top tear lawyers engaged before the false DV claim. Letter from bank was addressed to him and her advising that loan had been approved. Therefore he believed the loan - property was half his! But wife had it in her name. Police must not be capable of investigating fraud. or not allowed to believe men.
So we live on! Having no knowledge of where our son is! What he is doing? and no contact or knowledge of grandson!

Most aren’t because that would require a different case. The accused would have to bring the case against the liar. It takes a lot of money and even greater emotional strength of which there is very little after going through a rape trial.
I was a Jury Foreman of a rape Court Case back in the 1990s . The Jury consisted of 3 men & 9 women . The young man was charged with 3 accusations of rape by a young lady. They were in their early 20s.
After the trial we were informed by the Judge not to come back into Court with a verdict until we had 100% agreement of either guilty or not guilty on each of 3 counts of rape. After one & half days of discussion & deliberation it was impossible to get a unanimous decission .
We went back into the Courtroom and I announced to the Judge we could not come to a 100% agreement hence it was a hung Jury. He would not accept that & ordered us to go back to the Jury room until we came to a unanimous decision , no matter how many days it took.
When we got back into the Jury Room & after a few more hours deliberation I realised we would never achieve 100%. Hence as Foreman I gave a speach to the members of the Jury telling them that because we would never agree 100%, the majority votes had to be respected & accepted by the minority . Otherwise we will be here for weeks . Everyone agreed. Except one stuborn man who thought the accused was guilty. I took him into the men’s toilet and had a private discussion explaining the seriousness of the situation . And he was holding up the 100% verdict which the Judge demanded. Also the two young people had been through enough trauma being interorgated in Court and it had to be resolved immediately. Reluctantly he agreed. Thus 100% was achieved .
The majority vote was Innocent on all counts and was delivered to the Judge .
The interesting phenomenon was how often the women would change their minds. In the morning they might think he was innocent , then a few hours later say he was guilty but the next day say he was guilty on one count but but innocent on 2 . Their decisions were in a perpetual state of flux.
One lady said the accused reminded her of her Son and as her Son wouldn’t rape anyone neither would the accused.
Also some threw tantrums with hysterical crying and would lock themselves in the Ladies toilet .
Many of the Jury said they couldn’t sleep at night worrying. I suffered from hair falling out which caused a bald patch. Fortunately it grew back.

What you say here reminded me of the John Button case from WA , as a teenager he was charged with the murder of his girlfriend by running her over with his car . The police had forced him to confess , this was the Police's strongest evidence , there was no damage to his car as would be expected . But what happened in the jury room is disturbing , they found him not guilty on the charge of murder but guilty of manslaughter . This is absurd , he either ran her over or he did not run her over , but the law allowed them to do this , a compromise position , to keep everyone happy .
John spent five years in prison and was eventually pardoned when the truth came out many years later .
As you said this is totally illogical , had John been found guilty he would have faced the death penalty (1964), this fact might have influenced the jury . But there is often a belief that the police are always right , the jury system is flawed , just another problem to be solved in the corrupt justice system .
The trouble with juries is that personal prejudices can influence a jurors decision , this is nothing new , the jury selection process is seriously flawed , there is no vetting of the jurors past , no psychological assessment , a better system would be professional jurors , trained and selected to be unbiased . But this would cost money and take courage to change the system , and isn’t that the crux of the matter , lack of courage on the part of politicians to make necessary changes which might be unpopular.
What's really sad is that most of the comments under these articles are from women who are wives, mothers, and sisters of innocent men inside prison, with childred deprived of good fathers. These are the women the 'feminists' aren't interested in and don't care about...

Here's a train of logic I've had reading that....
For as long as women can use false accusing as a form of violence against men, there will also be a cost, not just to men but women also, indeed to societies at large.
By that I mean that it is now common knowledge internationally amongst many millions of men that women can (and too often some of them do) excercise the power to vindictively, falsely accuse men and get away with it or at most be treated leniently for having done so.
As you point out men, even if they are rightly acquitted get their lives turned upside down, and are traumatised by the process which becomes the punishment as unwarranted lawfare ensues.
A simple search on Youtube will make this point very clear, whether it be videos about the "grass eating" men in Japan, the Anti-feminists men in South Korea, The "lay down flat" men in China or the MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) men of the west.
For anyone not in the know, just search using the term "men opting out".
This contributes to why millions of young women are now in turn complaining and/or distressed because they are no longer approached and dated by men who as a demographic are becoming increasingly relationship/marriage aversive.
You can see these women every day, often in selfie videos on YT, Instagram, Tik-tok etc
A well you can see many counterpoint videos from men on YT channels such as "Fresh and fit" and "Menneedtobeheard" explaining that the risk to reward ration for men means appraoching women has simply become too dangerous, or as is often expressed "The juice aint worth the squeeze".
This in turn feeds into the recent phenomenon of reproductive decline, whereby many nations (South Korea being the most extreme example at 0.7 childen per couple) are far from breeding at replacement level. More than half of all countries — 99 of 194 — are already below replacement..
Some green minded folks will rejoice at this saying that a reduction in the global, human population will be good for the planet. Even if that were true (and I have serious doubts), they seem to overlook the fact that an inverted demographic pyramid means a future where less and less young people will carry the burden of caring for a comparably much larger old age demographic. That burden (largely paid for by working people's taxes to fund state care of elders or caring for elders in person) in turn takes away from their ability to reproduce..
There's a vicious cycle here, isn't there?

As you point out men, even if they are rightly acquitted get their lives turned upside down, and are traumatised by the process which becomes the punishment as unwarranted lawfare ensues.
A simple search on Youtube will make this point very clear, whether it be videos about the "grass eating" men in Japan, the Anti-feminists men in South Korea, The "lay down flat" men in China or the MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) men of the west.

This contributes to why millions of young women are now in turn complaining and/or distressed because they are no longer approached and dated by men who as a demographic are becoming increasingly relationship/marriage aversive.

A well you can see many counterpoint videos from men on YT channels such as "Fresh and fit" and "Menneedtobeheard" explaining that the risk to reward ration for men means appraoching women has simply become too dangerous, or as is often expressed "The juice aint worth the squeeze".

Some green minded folks will rejoice at this saying that a reduction in the global, human population will be good for the planet. Even if that were true (and I have serious doubts), they seem to overlook the fact that an inverted demographic pyramid means a future where less and less young people will carry the burden of caring for a comparably much larger old age demographic. That burden (largely paid for by working people's taxes to fund state care of elders or caring for elders in person) in turn takes away from their ability to reproduce..
