The same thing is happening in relation to ethnicity and religion. Try being someone of British heritage, and see how marginalised you are. To make it much much much worse, try being a British heritage Christian. Automatic exclusion if anyone finds out. Worst of all by far: an older, British heritage, Christian male. Heaven forbid if he is ugly to boot. Put him straight in gaol. No joke. For real.

One that got me was health and age care services. Because of our historical population and immigration profile, people in Australia who are old now are predominantly British heritage, Christian heritage. Old ladies dominate. But the policies being implemented are young woke culture (What is your gender, preferred pronouns?). Their own culture and values are swept aside. On anti-discrimination posters, they are notable by their entire absence.

In fact, the Anti-Discrimination Commissioner (the former one, the Thai bloke) told me the Anti-Discrimination Law doesn't apply to discrimination against 'whites' or Christians, only the other way.

Well put.

Sins of our fathers is a generalised expression, no more. Not aimed at any particular father. The fact is, we recognise today gender bias of previous generations, from rights to vote, to work and so on. And so a distorted retributive attitude is taken on by elements of the current generation. It has become a populist ploy of politicians to maintain and grow their status. Marketing companies have jumped on board, advertising, company boards, you name it! I don’t want to join in the affray of gender haters, that’s their own problem. But I do want to stay informed so that I can call out blatant sexism in advertising, our community, our schools, laws and policies. I’m male and I vote.

Has there been any study done on the connection between the rise of feminist dominance in public service institutions and the significant decline in educational standards over the last 30 years? The fact that females dominate our schools and associated public service departments is likely to be connected to declining standards.

A few years ago a female Mayor publicly stated she would hire females only for garbage truck drivers she even went as far as to enquire if it was discriminatory and was told it wasn’t. To this very day I have not seen one female driver.

Bettina, I notice the defence force has the lowest recruitment of females. One can only guess why.

I don't now donate to the Salvos due to their advertising which politicises the charity unnecessarily along the same lines as Stephen. I also find The Sydney Mission's bus advertising offensive for the same reason and do not donate to what previously was an admirable charity that supported homeless men every day. This is all very regrettable.

Feminism has always opposed gender equality. For a short time, a few of them pretended otherwise, but their actions always demonstrated the truth.

Very good analysis and insight. Thank you.

The problem I have with it is that all my experience, maturity, enthusiasm and commitment is being overlooked in favour of the opposite gender. If this is not discriminatory then I don’t know what is.

It really isn’t a case of competing for the role, as we simply can’t get enough experienced women sailors to pass on skills to the young. To add to the insult, we already run a Woman’s Sailing day event yearly, for novice and interested woman. I assist with that each year, which leads to new memberships. But the truth is, coaching kids in a hostile and dangerous environment requires long-standing skills and experience.

Any time a feminist uses the word "equality" or "equity" just show these statistics. It is so crystal clear that feminism has absolutely nothing to do with any "equality" or "equity" but only with female supremacy. And supremacy based on biology is fascism. Interestingly they know this in case of the supposed "white supremacy" but they are totally in support of female supremacy. Long story short, feminism = fascism. In my view, anyway.

It's no coincidence that over the past few decades, labour productivity growth has been woeful in Australia - a period strongly correlated with the rise of feminist agenda driven women in senior roles in both government and business.

If it wasn't for significant capital investment in technology, a sustained mining boom, and a period of global economic prosperity, the impact of even lower productivity growth would have been flashing warning signs long ago.

Giving feminists positions of political influence and corporate leadership roles is all well and good, but with responsibility comes accountability. Rather than being beneficial to business, we have instead seen cultural upheaval and an adversarial and litigious work environment cultivated by women. Men be damned.

Imposts on business have also risen exponentially over this period, many directly correlated with the demands of women in the workplace, with the transition from ideology to legislation often seamlessly expedited through state and federal parliaments.

Rather than a quantum leap forward in the structure of business and the economy over recent decades, we have instead witnessed the demise of traditional business sectors, and our economy consolidate to a point where structurally, almost 80% of GDP is now derived from the services economy, which is also responsible for 90% of Australian employment. Unsurprisingly, the services economy has ultimately become bloated with roles that appease the demands of the cultural march to the left - roles that are of course filled by women at every level, and add nothing to fundamental business and economic imperatives such as revenue growth, profitability, efficiency and productivity. In many cases, they actually undermine these objectives through the execution of woke ideology.

We are literally setting our economy up to fail in the name of appeasement.

This discrimination is not limited to just current government bureaucrats.

At a recent meeting of my local yacht club members, a call was put out for more sailing coaches. There’s a dire shortage of Saturday morning helpers. I volunteered for the upcoming season.

While I had already been doing this through previous seasons, they do require that a formal accreditation be obtained from the governing sailing sport body, Sailing Australia. There is a long list of short courses with a fee involved for each one. Also I need to have a “Working with Children” certificate (obtained already) and a motor boat license (to drive the rescue boat).

I asked if the club had funds to subsidize these certification costs, they said yes but only for women as money had been granted to the club indirectly from the government for that purpose exclusively.

Yet we cant seem to get enough women down there with the enthusiasm, experience and commitment to help the club.

Can someone tell me why anyone would want to be born MALE in this stultifying, discriminatory environment?

Steve

Hey Bettina, it must be lonely being the only well-known woman in Australia willing to speak up for men. :) My wife works in the coal mining industry and even there she sees unjustified promotions for women and other 'alternative genders', apparently not based on ability or qualifications for the job.

I just wanted to say thank you for the work you are doing!

I only discovered your substack after hearing you on a podcast recently and you've certainly opened my eyes to many interesting and surprising topics and facts. And I fear much more for my
