Sounds like Torres comes from the same mint as the dope who runs Victoria parliamentary Liberals. I won't bother with his name.

“Amazingly he suggested that hosting an event which included me could ruin the career of the art/law student who was the major organiser.”

Cancelling Bettina ought to endanger the political career of Mr Torrres.

Again, thank you so much Bettina for the great material you continue to produce, and your bravery and persistence in striving to have alternative perspectives presented

“While the centre left appears its extremist fringe, many on the centre right hesitate to challenge the cultural vandalism they observe for fear of being described as ‘cultural warriors’.”

The NSW Young Libs ARE frightened. They have been well chilled.

Towards the end of scomos rein, he thought kowtowing to the woke mob might be a worth while strategy. I get survival can lead us to poor decisions, but surely the loss to Albo and the Voice should have woken them up. Anyway i was a rusted on lib for 20 years straight and they get my 3rd vote since covid behind PHON and whoever else. I am sorry Bettina and I will write to them and let them know how weak I think they are.

Thank you Bettina for keeping Truth and sanity alive. I’ve previously been a Liberal member. I canceled when I realized they are careerists whose moral compass bends to the trends. Sadly the Liberal Party has abandoned common sense, reason, logic and conservative policy.

I did point out in the article that Chanum Torres may be simply the messenger, pushed into announcing a decision made largely by others. I do feel guilty that all the negative publicity might have ended this man's political career, even before it started! Seems a bit tough, particularly if he was forced to act on behalf of face-less power brokers within the organisation or from outside.

I noticed that The Australian reported on your exclusion from this event but didn't allow a comment thread underneath! I think this is a trend at The Australian, where they don't allow comments on a large proportion of stories addressing feminist issues, because they know the comments will be white hot.

It's just another example of the weird situation where the only people defending men from feminists are a handful of women. While I often get angry at women for the current situation (the feminists are all women too), the fact is that men are absolutely pathetic. On sexual politics, we are the most useless allies ever. I can't think of a single male public commentator who says anything to defend men and boys. So many of these problems would go away if men would just speak up instead of cravenly trying to appease feminists on every issue. Just look at what happened when a few male judges finally spoke up about sham rape cases. Were they run out of town? Did they lose the argument? No, the prosecutor was forced onto the back foot and her conduct will probably change to be less unfair to men. Shame on Torres and his handlers for trying to exclude you. He is a prime example of the cowardly, self-seeking men who enabled the current problems to exist.

Brava Bettina! A real 'national living treasure', exposing typical entryist Liberal cowardice. But far worse is in prospect: ALP Federal A-G Dreyfus' banning of parental choice in modes of schooling [abolition of Sex Discrim'n 'exemptions'] coming soon, and now Qld's shocking new bill to effectively ban critical opinions on sex and gender: https://newsweekly.com.au/newsweekly/cover-story/draconian-anti-discrimination-bill-attack-on-freedoms/

‘Discussion’—meaningful dialogue, exchange of views. I think it is a great shame that Tina’s extensive understanding and knowledge of the Higgins case has been excised from what would have certainly been a lively exchange of views from this proposed panel. Both Chris Merritt and Andrew Urban will not be backward in expressing their strong opinions on the Higgins’s debacle, but because they are both blokes the Female Mafia can just brush aside their comments, because a bloke would say that, wouldn’t he?

Anyway Tina the Crusader, you’ve fallen off your horse before. Hop back up, dust yourself off and onward and upward—you 74 year old granny!!

Incredulous. Shame on them. We need a range of views and experience on discussion panels even if you don't agree. Isn't that fundamental to making positive changes or putting in place protections to preserve the presumption of innocence for all.
