Well done, Bettina. With you all the way on this one. Left the U.S. a decade ago after a series of false allegations by women, including complete strangers enraged that I would not accept their commands. Many U.S. women and girls now assume that every male is a sort of punching bag and you-better-do it machine. It was disheartening and astonishing, but the cops and courts backed them up totally.

Could not live in such a chaotic and dangerous gender-environment anymore. Never been married, no kids, no legal problems except the ones those American females created for me. One stint in jail via a false accusation. I fled that country for a much saner, much more traditional 'third-world' country, and never looked back. Your efforts are desperately needed because, as you know, married or divorced men are at far greater risk than even I was. cheers, michael

I don't always read my emails due to travel and wish I had known about this event sooner. As the mother of a son falsely accused of dv I can confirm that for the father and the paternal family, it is hell it is also the most emotionally debilitating experience not knowing the children are safe with an unstable mother! I gave up my home to support my son after I heard him say "I might as well commit suicide if I loose my kids", it honestly broke my heart but also brought out the lioness in me! I thought, you are my child, I will not loose my child! If only these women truly understood 'violence against women', they would cringe at their lies! I lived it as a child witnessing my mother and step mother, my siblings and self suffer broken bones, cuts, blacker than black bruises, mental, emotional, sexual abuse. These false allegations are a far cry from the real life of a true dv victim! I am proud of my son, he self represented, did everything he had to do, we followed the rules and have the children back in our lives! I personally think a lot of women do this for housing and single parent payouts. Maybe the housing Minister should just offer reduced housing to women wanting 'out of relationships' rather than the women taking these false steps in order to get reduced housing and all the perks that comes with it! May true dv victims, males and females, be blessed with strength to find their way out of such relationships and lead more healthier, happier lives.

False accusations are so hard to fight. I personally would like to thank all the helpers who worked so hard and I imagine tirelessly to help Bettina run such a successful day. But what now? My opinion is “how to be more militant and not end up in jail”? Maybe the police commissioner should be given real facts and evidence of just how police are letting the average man down when they do not investigate. Do not get another opinion of the father who has been completely blindsided when police accuse him after the false accusation of the wife. Not one person allowed to give an opinion of the father! In all honesty where are we now? We know we are not alone, but that does not restore our lost access to the children, many of those do not have any idea why they do not have their father. They only have the lies the mother continues to repeat. One day they will hear the truth! Is Australia ready for the anger of thousands of children? Adults now who have been lied to!

I “like “ your comment and I’m sure many appreciate the work done by Bettina and her team , and the conference is a good start to bigger and better things.

You’re right men need to get more militant , march in the streets , after all that’s how the feminists got results ,and the homosexuals , maybe next Gay Mardi Gras the mens rights activists could join in, demanding justice for men and fathers .

A news report early this week from New South Wales on the subject of domestic violence and AVOs might have been coincidental .

The NSW government is apparently seeking “help” on DV from other organisations , ie. churches, sports clubs, charities etc.

Such is the urgency of the “crisis” that the minister was driven to state “ we can’t do this alone”. This minister , a woman , gloated over the big increase in men in prison as a direct result of recent stricter bail laws , and big increases in fines and jail terms for mere breaches of DV orders, now 5 years and $ 15,000 .

What will be the outcome of this ? Nothing good , a rise in vigilante attacks on innocent men maybe . When governments start to outsource law enforcement we should all be worried , as happened in the mining states WA, QLD. Mining companies in partnership with state governments became involved in the DV cases of their employees .

"One day they will hear the truth! Is Australia ready for the anger of thousands of children?"

The new "stolen generations" dwarfing that which went before.

Expand full comment

I agree. We are yet to see the damage caused to children deprived of a father. As adults these children will grow up angry & eventually will blame their mothers for deceiving the courts. What is being done by Family court judges is criminal. Their legacy will be another generation stolen.

One day ‘the child’ will come across a cousin who knows the whole truth. These cousins have not been lied to. As they share a beer and thoughts, which the Family Court now has no control over; the child will come to a realization of the way his mother ‘got full control’.

On the domestic violence front here’s news from W.A . On Tuesday a woman stabbed her male partner in the leg in a DV incident . The man later died from his injury , the woman charged.

A timely reminder that women are not the only victims of domestic homicides.

Having recently read a new piece by William Collins on the Illustrated Empathy Gap I realisedhow much of the feminist enterprise depends on the idea of "gendered" abuse. IT has been one of the central planks of feminism that marriage has to be destroyed to establish the "family" as the mother and her offspring with a subordinate role for the father in "helping" her. The most effective tool in removing fathers rights has been the notion that men are always the abuser and therefore a raft of laws and policies that remove fathers are given support because they tap into the "need" to protect damsels from toxic males.

This is implicit in the regular use of the expression "women and their children". Children are the property of women.

Nigel, could you post the link to the article you read please.

I'm starting to dislike this 'gendered' abuse speak.

Maybe it is that someone 'abuses' someone else because of their 'gender' but at the end of the day it is one human being assaulting another human being.

Every time I see 'gendered abuse' now I react against it. It covers something up!! Maybe it is too abstract!

I was looking at some Charity pages, after reading Bettina's last Article about Movember, and sometimes the words 'gender abuse' are used but then later on the same site it turns into 'violence against females'.

I felt like I was led down the garden path of 'we want to stop all violence' and then woke up at the end of the garden surrounded by 'stop violence against women'.

It is an eye opener to realise this 'stuff' and how it really is propaganda and also how much of it goes on in society. I'm reading Stephen Baskerville's latest book and it is fully of examples about how Groups present one thing to raise money/change society but is then directed elsewhere - exactly what Bettina is saying. It fact it is like Money Laundering. After my little bit of research of looking at Charity websites I am seeing that these sites do give themselves away if one keeps reading and clicking away.

Otherwise, things aren't really named for what they are - 'I was abused' is nowhere the same as 'I was raped' or 'I was hit me over the head with the frying pan', etc.

The UK has actually "gendered" abuse and victimhood. Male victims of sexual and domestic abuse are now officially counted as "victims of violence against women and girls".

It is very important that we learn from RFK the importance of modest success. He made the decision to align with Trump in return for some progress on food reform. I hope many other politicians with important policies to trade, make the same decision. It is important to realize that the ideal is seldom best. Perfection takes practice, and excessive caution stops the fastest car.

Tom Peters, a management guru from the 1980's spoke about the importance of catching someone doing the right thing and praising them immediately.

There will never be a perfect politician who meets all our standards, and in whom we should risk all. But there are many that might help us on our journey, at least for a little way.

We must not be too slow to ask and too afraid to negotiate.

I read the article mentioning Avi, it said he pled guilty.

I think one of the most awful things I've ever seen is giving someone a choice between a light punishment for admission of guilt with the dirt on his reputation or no admission of guilt a still dirt on his reputation and maybe a heavier sentence.

Expand full comment

But it is an admission of guilt, for crimes not committed. So many men feel they have no choice but to respond in this fashion, hoping to be able to fight and clear their names later.

Expand full comment

Yes, pleading guilty "with no admissions". What an oxymoron.

Doing so forces the accused to maybe avoid jail but it sets him up for a thorough doing over in the Courts, where the no admissions plea only serves to benefit the accusers.
