In Brisbane a woman was charged with stabbing murder of husband (child in house) sentenced to 9 years jail & released in 3 yrs. The court heard the woman had been psychologically abusing the husband- she was annoyed and angry. He was not acting in a threatening manner.
& A woman murdered the father of her son "because she didn't want to keep paying child support". The father's family said he was an all round good guy and an amazing father.
Did these receive the publicity that happens when women are killed?
The event Bettina went to Canberra for 16 Nov 2023 where there were 2,500 empty shoes on the lawn in front of Parliament house- one shoe for each of the males who die in Australia each year due to suicide. I heard nothing on the News or current event coverage. Read no media coverage. Why? It was not about women.
Thank you Bettina, without you we would not have known.
In WA. Women get away with murder, a Geraldton doctor killed her husband with a club hammer and was out of prison only 6 months after her trial, the court was very sympathetic and saw her as the “ victim” .
A controversial case indeed and WA courts now seem to be much tougher on women killers , this case must have been the wake up call. The infamous and misguided Rose Batty played a shameful part in her support of this woman doctor and worse was the role of Peter Dutton , now leader of the opposition , at the time he was foreign minister and buckled to lobbying by the Batty feminists. He allowed the killer to stay in Australia when she should have been deported, not being a permanent citizen.
How hypocritical of Dutton for making such a song and dance about the released detainees when he allowed a murderer to stay, but of course the Geraldton doctor was a WOMAN.
Ken, very hypocritical of Peter Dutton. When one remembers just how vindictive he was towards the Biloela refugee family. Politicians change their values depending on elections and "what's in it for me".
Run over a grandfather (he died), pretend that there were 3 Sudanese guys in her car (not true), she proved as a liar, have multiple prior driving offences and get tried in a Koori Court. No convictions.
