AVO/ADVO are common for both sexes now. It’s really not the case that police or magistrates automatically favour women. In many cases a neighbour will call the police because they hear an argument and it’s more likely the woman will be issued an order by police if she is angry, has been drinking. They are horrible inhumane unjust instruments that are used far too widely by the police, who admittedly have little discretion anymore. They destroy families, and harm children. Women especially can be coerced or feel they have no choice but to agree to an AVO by police. We are not all manipulative bitches. Then there’s a cycle between partners where fear will cause them to preemptively blame the other. And AVOs are now being issued to parents, grandparents, siblings on each other. Misgendering your own adult child can get you served with an ADVO now. This men v women situation with both parties arguing about who is the biggest victim does not help. The laws are inhumane. Our society is far too reliant on laws over social norms. Just remember that involving the law always causes harm. And calling the police is ALWAYS the wrong thing to do. Unfortunately sometimes it’s necessary. But to call the police bcs your partner went through your phone?

“Let’s not forget that coercive control is the biggest predicting factor in intimate parent homicide”, said the Minister for Women, Shannon Fentiman, when introducing the bill for the new Queensland laws.

I wonder if Ms Fentiman is aware of research indicating women to be more controlling in relationships?

Scary how the primarily female forms of aggression are being catered to up to and including criminal law.

There is one sure thing that will increase domestic violence, and it seems that the feminists are all for increasing domestic violence.

As I have grown, I have noticed that throughout my life women have been treated reasonably well. we have had such greats like Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Marie Curie, Ada Lovelace and so many more. These great people changed the world in so many positive ways, and they did it at times when (under todays mindset) they were living under oppressive conditions.

Yes, we can and often do celebrate these fine women, the mere fact that I know of these women is testament to that.

Are we going to celebrate the strong women of today, the ones who took simple behaviours and used them to imprison men, to destroy the lives of both their male partners and their sons? Our current age of man bashing is hopefully going to go down in history as a very dark time in history and the women and men driving this should all be remembered for the damage they did to our society.

FFS, more men die from taking their own lives that die on the roads.

I like in the Spanish video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2reNdQSpvI how he appeals to the rights of the child coming first.. this is the best thing to hear and to go forward with.

Bettina, excellent article - thank you. Here is a 5-part video series on coercive control that British girls are now being forced to watch in now-mandatory Relationship and Sex Education lessons at school:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/is-this-coercive-control/z2bbsk7

Secondary schools in the UK are now teaching girls how to make criminal accusations of domestic abuse against their boyfriends and future husbands for coercive control, which was made a crime under the UK Domestic Abuse Act 2021. Half of all divorces in the UK now involve allegations of domestic abuse, overwhelmingly made by women to gain a massive and immediate advantage in gaining custody of their children and house.

The British government made Relationship and Sex Education classes in school mandatory back in 2017. Until recently, parents were not allowed to see what was being taught in these mandatory RSE classes (a law sponsored by feminist Theresa May when she was PM).

Women's Aid, a British Government-funded organisation of man-hating feminists that uses domestic abuse as a front for terrorist activities against men, is behind most of this.

Imagine if boys were were shown equivalent videos but with the genders reversed, on how to use the new law to incarcerate your psycho girlfriend? Men and boys would be appalled.

In these RSE lessons girls are not being taught anything about how to have a happy, meaningful relationship, how to resolve conflict, the Golden Rule, empathy, understanding, forgiveness, how to make things work, etc. They are only being taught that men are abusers and women are victims. After this feminist indoctrination in RSE lessons at school, there is little chance any of these girls will want to marry or will be capable of having a marriage that doesn't end in divorce.

Would very much like to hear your comments.

Merry Christmas to you too Bettina.

Just wondering if you were aware of this presentation about the facts behind domestic violence. It was in 2016, but it seems to be a balanced study quoting its sources and figures.

Another top notch article Bettina, and more than timely considering the situation here in Australia. Only in the last day or so there was a media report that talked about the "failure" of the Queensland police to appoint so-called domestic violence experts into many designated police command areas. In keeping with your article, could it be that they are keeping those positions open until the indoctrination of police officers to only arrest men is complete? Neatly timed to coincide with the introduction of the draconian coercive control measures? Surely not. Call me a cynic but that Fentiman sounds like an appalling individual - anything she says should be taken with a very large tablespoon of salt to say the least.

I wonder is there any research that correlates feminist driven legislation with actual violence against women? Is it possible that unfair legislation drives violence?

Just the simple insistence on "innocent until PROVEN guilty" principle being applied would be a start. Follow that up with jail time for accusations PROVEN to be false.

Have a great Holiday Season , on a brighter note . . The only changes to the Feminazi front line , is it appears that more Women are paying the ultimate price , for what I can only describe as " The Female Invasion ". . Any jobs of power seem to be a target and very successful from about 10% of applications. I'm afraid I've reached the stage of turning of anything that has a female voice delivering . That alone is a frightening stage to reach , . Next step could not be as pretty in tormented minds .

Hannah Clarkes parents have been manipulated by the feminists in this State. We also have another Alison Baden Clay who was found guilty of her murder, but men who have been murdered by women are never mentioned. Every year in Queensland we have to endure the usual tears by the female Police Commissioner who pushes the Governments agenda, the female politicians who every year drag out the poor families who have lost their loved ones. It is sad to see these misguided families used as advocates for the feminists in Queensland. I am a big believer that no one knows what goes on within families & I also know women trigger situations, I have seen it many times, they provoke and bully, they steal children from fathers, they are the reason why men lose their jobs and homes. If elected politicians stopped playing the women’s agenda and recognised women not men are the masters of coercive control. They need to stop playing the women are victims card. Furthermore women do not get murdered because of coercive control, it’s unheard of.

Its surprising how many domestic disputes are both parties being dysfunctional. The media and feminists like to portray male violence as though its just some random thing that can happen at any time to any women. But the reality is domestic violence is highly predictable between two dysfunctional people. People with drug problems, bad upbringings, alcoholism and people with personality defects (like bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder) etc. These laws really just protect dysfunction women from their own poor choices (poor choices in men). There is no way to "solve the problem", since the problem is dysfunctional people, be they men or women.
