It's odd that women only discover that their husband is "abusive" after about 10 years of marriage, and there's a house, and children, and she's spent most of her time at home ("sacrificing her career") putting her in the box seat for custody and assets as the "primary carer".

Amazingly it doesn’t work in reverse. ie if the man is the stay at home carer.
